– To stop Putin, we need weapons. I have been heard and now the transfer of weapons is already realized – he said during a press conference Sunday Defense Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Hełetej, which cites Interfax-Ukraine.
Deliveries are to be the result of bilateral talks behind closed doors, which occurred during the recent meeting of leaders of the Alliance in Wales. Hełetej did not reveal, however, about what the state has to walk. – But the fact is that the weapon has us going. It is absolutely true, and I can officially talk about it – assured the minister.
At the beginning of September, NATO countries agreed that the Alliance as a whole will not transfer weapons in Ukraine. Each Member allies, however, will be able to take such a decision alone.
A few days ago during a meeting with the Ukrainian National Guard troops in Mariupol Petro Poroshenko announced that Ukraine reached an agreement with several NATO countries on the direct supply of modern weapons. – It will help us defend and conquer – said the president.
Prior to his colleague Yuriy Lutsenko mentioned the United States, France, Italy, Norway and Poland as countries that have agreed to provide weapons to Ukraine. This information quickly zdementowały Ministry of Defence of those countries, including the Polish Ministry of National Defence.
