The new package of sanctions against Russia, agreed on Friday by the ambassadors of EU countries on Monday has yet to be approved by the Member States in the written procedure.

According to diplomats restrictions include, among others, expanded the list of people banned from entering the EU, freezing of assets, credit restrictions against Russian companies and the ban on exports to Russia of dual-use.

The sanctions have to touch Russian companies – Gazprom Bank, Gazprom Neft (Gazprom’s oil subsidiary) and, according to the newspaper “Financial Times” also concern Rosneft. According to unofficial reports, the list of sanctioned no Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.

On Saturday, Russia announced that it will respond to further EU sanctions.
