Court in Communication announced on Saturday stressed that Article 130 of the Mexican Constitution stipulates that ministers can not join political organizations, associate for political purposes or to grow propaganda in favor of or against the party candidates in the election, and the same parties or political parties.

Justification? “Secular, democratic regime”

Clerics – according to this judgment – at political meetings or during church services and other religious acts must not be against the law in force in the country, the institutions of the country or national symbols.

The Court justified its ruling on grounds of defense of the Mexican parliamentary system, which is a “democratic, secular and federal sanctified by Article 40 of the Federal Constitution.”
