Ferry sank in Bangladesh. At least 65 victims – GazetaPrawna.pl

The ferry sank after a collision with a merchant ship on the river Padma. On board have been rescued by świadków- from 70 to 150 people, police said that 50 of them managed to swim to shore or were rescued by other units.

In Bangladesh, one of the poorest countries in Asia, ferry accidents occur very often. They are the main means of transport network of more than 230 rivers in the country, especially in rural areas of the South and Northeast. The reason is the outdated fleet, often overflow units. Usually, it is difficult to even determine how many people are on the ferry, which makes the subsequent rescue.
