Separatists have announced the withdrawal of heavy equipment – Virtual Poland

One of the leaders of the separatists in Ukraine Eduard Basurin announced that the pro-Russian militants begin withdrawal of heavy equipment from the east of the country, thus fulfilling the last agreement with Minsk. The operation will last two weeks.
 

– Plan signed last night. Starting Sunday, we have two weeks to withdraw the equipment – said Deputy Minister of Defense appointed by separatists Donetsk Republic of China (DRL), the Russian news agency Interfax. In an interview with Tass news agency said that the negotiations on this issue took place three days ago, but there has been no agreement then due to “some details”. Basurin announced that the part of an agreement signed with separatists among DRL leader Oleksandr Zacharczenko.

– Today we begin the preparatory work. Tomorrow is a holiday, but on February 24 will begin the process of withdrawing technical equipment – Basurin said, adding that the Ukrainian side also agreed to begin working for his part.
 

Asked about the statement by the representative of the Reuters news agency the National Security Council and Defense of Ukraine (NSDC) Andriy Lysenko said that the authorities in Kiev can not confirm whether indeed separatists began withdrawing heavy equipment.
 

Kiev also announced that during the night from Saturday to Sunday separatists 12 times violated the ceasefire, among others, Ukrainian position by making a fire and rocket artillery shells. At dawn in Donetsk could hear explosions. Forces the authorities in Kiev have also been attacked near the strategic city of Mariupol through which runs the road to the Crimea occupied by Russia.
 

Despite this incident the situation in the east of Ukraine is much calmer than it did a week ago.
 

According to the concluded on February 12 in Minsk peace agreements on the Eastern Ukraine from February 15 ceasefire took effect. Then on both sides of the line struggles within 14 days had to be withdrawn heavy weapons and mapped buffer zone with a width of 50 to 70 km.
