TransAsia Airways flight last – Newsweek Poland

Turboprop ATR 72-600 aircraft line TransAsia Airways declined to Keelung River in Taipei. According to the Taiwanese media, the accident occurred shortly after the start of construction of the nearby airport.

According to preliminary information, the incident killed at least nine people and wounded ten. On board the machine were 58 people: 53 passengers and five crew members.

The Taiwanese television showed rescue vests of passengers trying to get out of the river. Rescue teams in inflatable boats attempted to escape from inside the partly submerged hull of the other survivors – writes Reuters.

In June last year. R. 48 people were killed when a turboprop aircraft of the same lines TransAsia Airways crashed while approaching to land at Penghu island to the west of Taiwan.
