Eight persons convicted for drug trafficking in Indonesia, including seven foreigners and Indonesian, it was after midnight from Tuesday to Wednesday (local time) executed. Was not among them Filipinki, whose execution was postponed.
The four Nigerian nationals, two Australians, Brazilian and Indonesian citizen were executed by firing squad in prison on the Indonesian island of Nusakambangan – Indonesian media reported.
Two Australians were arrested in April 2005 for leading a criminal group having smuggled from Indonesia to Australia more than eight kilograms of heroin.
Authorities in Jakarta International rejected requests for clemency. According to the UN crimes committed by the nine convicts they were not so serious to rule on capital punishment.
