How Japanese NHK TV reported for several small islands near Okinawa were issued a warning against a small tsunami. However, the alarm quickly canceled.
Japan lies on a seismically active area, at the junction of four tectonic plates. There exists approx. 20 percent. all earthquakes in the world.
In March 2011, a powerful earthquake and tsunami caused in north-eastern Japan, killing over 18,000 people and massive destruction.
Seismic also recorded in Taiwan . According to the US Geological Survey USGS earthquake had a magnitude of 6.4 there. No tsunami warning was issued. There is also no information about the victims or destructions. In the capital of Taiwan, Taipei, buildings swayed.
Taiwan, like Japan, is exposed to seismic shocks.
