On Sunday, early morning, the president Gronkiewicz-Waltz proudly opened a tunnel Wisłostrada. It happened after more than 10 months after the accident on the construction of the second metro line, when during drill link between the eastern and western part of the station Copernicus Science Centre flooded water with sand underground corridor, and the tunnel was created empty space that had to fill out a special blend.

A few hours after reopening the facility as a result of heavy rainfall, the flooding occurred. For more than two hours Wisłostrada and all Powiśle was paralyzed. It turned out that the cause of this situation, a failure of the sensor drainage system, whereby the excess water from the tunnel was not discharged into the river. To more it does not happen again, authorities planned to prepare additional procedures to allow for quick response to situations of this kind.
