Kerry will remain in a Swiss hospital until Monday – Virtual Poland

US Secretary of State John Kerry, who broke his leg while cycling, will remain in hospital in Geneva Monday. Kerry initially intended to return to the US, where he will continue treatment on Sunday.
 

State Department spokesman John Kirby said that Kerry will stay a bit longer in a Swiss hospital “as a precautionary measure only.”

Kirby added that Secretary of State “is in a very good mood and remains active”. Conducted many telephone conversations, including with President Obama.
 

Kerry broke his right leg femur while cycling in the east of France near the Swiss border. The accident occurred on a mountain road in the village of Scionzier, in the Rhone-Alpes, Haute-Savoie department in the east of France, approx. 40 km south-east from the Swiss border.
 

After the accident, Kerry was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Geneva. His life is not in danger.

The 71-year-old Kerry in his spare time during his diplomatic trip often rides a bicycle. On Saturday in Geneva he waged talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif, trying to remove obstacles to final agreement on the nuclear world powers with Iran.
