Syria: Rebels won the last point of resistance of government troops in the province of Idlib
The city had been occupied as a result – as stated – “instant offense”. This means that almost the whole province of Idlib, located in the northwest Syria near the border with Turkey, was in the hands of the rebels.
This information initially denied Syrian Army spokesman who claimed that the city still ongoing intense fighting. However, later he admitted that government troops withdrew from Arihy.
Earlier, the rebels captured other cities in this province m. al. Idlib and Dżisr al-Szugur. Winning Arihy – as emphasized by observers – is another, with the last series, defeat government troops fighting Sunni rebels backed by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey.
The leader of the al-Nusra Front, Abu Mohammed al-joule said in an interview with Al-Jazeera that his organization focuses on the acquisition of Damascus and overthrow of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. He promised to protect Syrian minorities, whose rights are restricted by the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.
