Participants in the march against the European Commission’s proposal regarding the deployment of EU countries 40 thousand. immigrants banded together via one of the social networking sites. They wanted to protest against plans which aim to tackle the growing number of immigrants in the EU.
Saturday’s protest was held under the slogan: “Stop the Islamisation of Europe, together against the dictates of Brussels; Europe for Europeans”. According to Slovak media in a march attended by several hundred to several thousand people.
According to a European Commission proposal of 40 thousand. people among refugees from Syria and Eritrea who arrived after April 15 in Italy and Greece, is to be deployed in different EU countries according to a key based primarily on the size of GDP and population, as well as the level of unemployment and the number of refugees already in the past five years.
Proposed by the European Commission measures to relieve countries of the southern Member States which receive tens of thousands of refugees from Africa and the Middle East. The EC wants the other EU countries have taken over two years to 24 thousand. immigrants from Italians and 16 thousand. from the Greeks. If the plan of the refugees will not be accepted in June by a qualified majority in the Council, it would not start from July 1, as planned European Commission.
Against the European Commission’s proposal protests several member countries: Slovakia, which would take 785 refugees as well as Poland, Hungary and France.
