The attack took place in the northeastern part of the country, where women prepared in the homes of traditional evening meal on the occasion of Ramadan.
Detailed information about the attack reached the capital of Nigeria from Kukawy, lying about 90 km north from the city of Maiduguri on Thursday evening.
The attackers set fire to Kukawa and the neighboring village. Four mosques have been almost completely destroyed.
