The Bavarian authorities for 70 years blocked attempts to resume “Mein Kampf”, but their copyright to the book will expire at the end of the year. To forestall the emergence of a scientific publication without comment, historians prepared the edition of the book bearing their comments.

Hitler wrote the first part of “Mein Kampf” in prison in Landsberg, where he was serving a prison sentence after a failed coup in Munich in November 1923 year.
