The 84 euro-skeptic members of the Conservative Party, supporters of starting the UK from the European Union, announced on Thursday evening a letter supporting the further exercise of the office of Prime Minister David Cameron, regardless of the outcome of the referendum on. Brexitu.

The letter was published just after the referendum. Among the signatories is Boris Johnson , former Mayor of London and leader of the campaign for leaving the UK from the European Union. Commentators see him as a potential successor to Cameron as Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party.

Cameron, the initiator of the referendum on Brexitu, called the campaign to stay in the EU. Repeatedly he assured that it is not thinking about his resignation in case of victory of supporters of starting the UK from the European Union. But many politicians, both Conservative and commentators felt that his position would be untenable in the case of a decision to leave the EU.

The campaign before the referendum revealed deep divisions among conservatives. Many of them, including some government ministers Cameron became involved in the campaign for Brexitem.
