From the estimate prepared by the Institute shows that throughout 2016 years come to Germany from 300 to 400,000 refugees. This number may be higher, however, if the changed political conditions – for example, if he broke off an agreement on the influx of immigrants concluded between the European Union and Turkey or if reopened Balkan route.

 

More than a million refugees reached the German borders

 

Last year in Germany reached more than 1,139 million refugees – informs the Federal Statistical Office. Thanks to record immigration, the population of Germany in 2015 amounted to 82.2 million people, or 1.2 percent. more than in the previous year. It is the largest single increase since German reunification in 1990. Without immigration the population of the state in 2015 would decrease because of 188 thousand. more people died during this period than was born.

 

In addition to refugees from war-torn regions and crisis regions in Germany went well as many citizens of other EU countries looking for work.
