The Communication underlines that the pope was talking with his guests about the “use of communication technologies in order to reduce poverty, foster a culture of meetings and transfer message of hope, especially those most in need” .
Zuckerberg is not the first celebrity associated with new technologies, which have been adopted in the Vatican. In January, the Pope granted an audience to the Director General of Apple, Tim Cookowi, then took Google CEO, Eric Schmidt.
The Pope has long been tens of millions of people tracking his Twitter account in different languages, and since March has an account on Instagram, but Facebook is absent.
