Died the former President of Israel, Nobel peace Prize Szimon Peres – Polish Radio

Szimon Peres was in the hospital in tel Aviv on September 13, stroke. Initially the prognosis was positive, but then as the former President of Israel began to deteriorate.

Szimon Peres was born as Simon Persian 2 Aug 1923 in Wiszniewie in the Novogrudok region on the territory of the second Polish Republic (now Belarus).

In 1934 he emigrated with his family to Palestine, where in 1947 he joined the Jewish paramilitary organization Haganah. Participated in the war of Arab-Israel in 1948-1949.

He attributed the development of the concept of policy ambiguity. It still is implemented for the availability of this country of nuclear weapons, which Israel has not confirmed.

Twice, in 1984-1986 and 1995-1996 he held the position of Prime Minister from the Labour Party.

As head of the government took a number of decisions that had the support, in particular, in 1985, he together with the then Finance Minister and head of the Bank of Israel completed the implementation of a successful program of economic stabilization, which was stopped by a sharp rise in inflation.

and he was the main Builder of the military potential of the state of Israel. Involved in the purchase of weapons and the conclusion of the importance of strategic alliances, particularly with France.

In 1994 as Minister of foreign Affairs for contribution to the achievement of an agreement with the Palestinians received the Nobel peace Prize along with his great rival in the Labor Party, the then Prime Minister Icchakiem Rabbi and head of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Jaserem Arafatem.
