• New Zealand hit by an earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale
• There is no information yet about any victims or material losses
• Issued a warning of tsunami
The latest information, however, shows that a dangerous wave or not at all formed or was small. The epicenter of the tremors was located less than 160 kilometers from the city of Gisborne, at a depth of 55 kilometers.
Even several hours ago, around 22:30 our time, New Zealand was hit by shock strength of 5.7 degrees. Since then, the land in this place constantly shakes, but until today, until 18:40 these shocks had little power and did not cause much damage.
Recent shocks, however, had the strength of 7.2 on the Richter scale. It was, they felt even on the Great Barrier Reef, situated off the coast of Australia in the Coral Sea, and in Auckland. There is no information yet about any victims or material losses.
During the earthquake in Christchurch, 22 February 2011 killed 185 people.
