Turkey apologizes for shooting down Russia’s Su-24. Vladimir Putin got a letter – Virtual Poland

• Ankara Moscow apologized for shooting down a Russian bomber

 • In a letter which he sent to Turkish President Vladimir Putin, fell the word “sorry”

In the letter Erdogan expressed “sympathy and offered deep condolences to” the family of the slain pilot and “ask for forgiveness” – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a statement. He added that the Turkish president “expressed a willingness to resolve the situation regarding the downing of Russian aircraft.” Turkish President stressed in a letter to Putin that Russia is Turkey’s friend and strategic partner. “I’ve never had neither the desire nor the deliberate intention to shoot down a plane belonging to the Russian Federation” – can be read in the document.

Erdogan Putin announces that the Turkish authorities make every effort to pick up the Syrian opposition pilot’s body, which was transported with due respect to Turkey and later transferred to Russia. “I want to once again express my sincere sympathy and convey condolences to the family of the fallen pilot and say sorry” – wrote Erdogan.
 

Next Turkish leader said that “in the name of relief of pain and the harm caused is ready for any initiative.” He also assured that the Turkish justice system has already dealt with a person who is responsible for the death of a Russian pilot.
 

spokesman for Turkish President Ibrahim Kalin confirmed in a statement issued issuing a letter of apology to the Russian president.
 

“The President also appealed to his Russian counterpart about the resumption of the traditionally friendly relations between Turkey and Russia, cooperation in resolving regional crises and the joint fight against terrorism” – wrote Kalin.
 

“I am pleased to announce that Turkey and Russia have agreed to immediately take the necessary steps to improve bilateral relations,” – said in a statement a spokesman for the Turkish president.
 

Shooting a Su-24
 

Russian Su-24 bomber was shot down by Turkish fighter jets on Nov. 24 last year. Ankara explaining downing accused Russia of violating Turkish airspace, which Moscow denied. After the incident, relations between the two countries have deteriorated significantly. Vladimir Putin demanded an apology, but I do not live to see. He commanded so break all relations with Turkey.
 

The Russian president then announced that they will not be lifted until Turkey does not apologize for the incident. Moscow imposed an embargo on many food products and suspended cooperation in the sphere of economic and scientific-technical. He broke off military contacts as well. The representative of Turkey said on Monday that the search began for Alparslana Celik, suspect in the murder of Russian pilot Oleg Pieszków, the Su-24 bomber was shot down. Celik had to kill him, although Russian, dropping by parachute, he could not defend himself. Moments earlier Pieszków bombed Syrian positions Turkmen. Russia demanded the arrest of the man, when publicly confessed to the shooting of a Russian pilot.
 

Celik were detained in March in Izmir in western Turkey, but the prosecutor’s office announced then that his hearing was associated with a previous conviction, according to which he had to spend in prison 30 months. Media, in turn, stated that the man was being questioned in connection with the alleged role of killing the pilot. In May, the court decided, however, that there is insufficient evidence and released him from prison.
