Berlin – The SPD is happy about a good survey-the Start of your designated Chancellor candidate Martin Schulz. According to the ARD Germany trend, many of the citizens give him a similar good reviews like Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU).
“Running”, wrote the Vice-Chairman, Federal Minister of family Affairs Manuela Schwesig, in the short message service Twitter. Sigmar Gabriel, the President of Parliament on the candidacy for Chancellor and party Chairman dispensed with in favour of the former EU had cut off in the polls always significantly worse than Merkel.
In the purely theoretical case, that you could choose the Chancellor directly, would choose to do so, 41 percent of respondents are in favour of Angela Merkel (-2 points since December). As many, 41 percent, would choose Schulz (+5). For 11 percent, neither of the two is out of the question, determined Infratest dimap.
Schulz is not 65 percent of the respondents know so far, for what policy actually is. Nevertheless, they gave him good reviews. Some of the criteria he performs even slightly better than Merkel, about the credibility (Schulz, 65 percent, Merkel: 64 per cent) and sympathy (Schulz, 69, Merkel: 63). In the case of other criteria, he is behind her, but still far in front of Gabriel, for example in the case of competence (Schulz, 68, Merkel: 78, Gabriel: 53) and leadership (Schulz, 60, Merkel: 79; and Gabriel, 39).
the head of The opinion research Institute Forsa, Manfred Güllner, Schulz’ chances, however, are skeptical. “Schulz has been no clear political contours,” he said of the “NordWest-Zeitung” (Thursday). “He became known as the President of the European Parliament. With Europe, you can win but not a Federal election.”
For the SPD this Thursday, however, not only a day of new beginnings – but also of farewell. Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier (SPD) travels immediately prior to leaving his office to Paris. Gabriel perceives his last major appointment as Minister of the economy: on the Occasion of the presentation of the annual economic report, he is in a government statement to Parliament.
With his trip to Paris to celebrate Steinmeier the importance of German-French relations for Europe and beyond. Together with his French colleague Jean-Marc Ayrault, he will participate in a panel discussion on European policy.

In Brussels, the headquarters of the European Union, he was similar to often. The farewell trip to Paris is the last of 220 in this parliamentary term.
Steinmeier retires from the Cabinet, because he is on 12. February, to the throne as the candidate of the Grand coalition in the Federal presidential election. His choice is considered to be safe. His discharge certificate he receives at the Friday morning of the man whose successor he wants to be: Federal President Joachim Gauck.
