Parliament Speaker soothes position? The Visegrad Group has … – Dziennik.pl

From the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, Poland adopted a harsh stance towards Russia , but the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary were not so strong. Thus revealed a split within the Visegrad Group.

After the meeting in Prague Minister for Parliament Speaker suggested that the position of Polish and the Czech Republic are increasingly converging. – We had a very similar view on the issue of sanctions, further treatment of Russian policy in eastern Ukraine – emphasized.

In turn, Czech Minister Lubomir Zaoralek explained that Prague could not accept the sharp position on Russia because the Russian response to the sanctions affected the Czech industry. – In Poland, the hot topic was the sanctions on agricultural products, but we have been interested in the Czech Republic in the Russian embargo on our machines and agricultural machines. This is due to the nature of our economy – explained Zaoralek.

At the end of September, the Czech President called for the abolition of the EU towards Russia. In turn, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico promised to rebuild the friendly relations with Moscow. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban deplored because it moves away from the Union of Russia.
