The tragedy occurred in a coal mine Jiangjiawan, near the city of Datong.

More than 600 rescuers pumped water and rescue drills the holes cut off trying to get to the underground miners. So far, pumped more than 6100 cubic meters of water.

At the time of incursion of water into the mine, there were 247 underground miners. 223 of them managed to escape to the surface.

The Chinese mines, considered to be the most dangerous in the world, for some time, the number of fatal accidents decreases. Experts give two reasons for this: some improvement in safety conditions and reduced demand for coal due to the weakening of the growth rate of the Chinese economy.
