Seven police officers, including one seriously, were injured during riots on the streets of New Baltimore Afro-American after the funeral, who died after being stopped by the police.
The funeral was attended by over 2500 people, then angry mob turned out on the streets. Clashes with police who used tear gas to disperse demonstrators trying. Protesters accused the police of causing the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray. Police spokesman Eric Kowalczyk Baltimore, officers were overcast with bricks and stones. Set on fire a few police cars. There was also to acts of vandalism and robbing stores.
April 12 Gray suffered a spinal cord injury, after the arrest of pushed him to the police van. A week later, the man died in hospital. The authorities have launched an investigation into the matter. Six police officers who participated in the arrest of Gray, was suspended.
