The US Senate unanimously approved the bill, which calls on the administration of President Barack Obama to tighten sanctions against Russia, and also calls for the provision of assistance to Ukraine – including the military. Republicans agree: Putin must pay for an attack on the freedom and security in Europe. The position of the Senate is opposition to the policy pursued by the President of the United States. So far, the US sanctions imposed on Russia in connection with the annexation of the Crimea and supporting the rebellion in eastern Ukraine, were introduced only by the US administration as part of Obama’s presidential powers.
 

If Obama agreed to the Act of Congress and signed it, it would not only increased the range of sanctions, but also their eventual elimination of the future would depend on the consent of Congress. Thus, as noted by recent newspaper “The Wall Street Journal,” Obama “would raise their hands”, limiting the possibilities of influencing the Kremlin by quickly responding to the situation – eg. By relaxing or tightening of sanctions.
