The suicide bombing took place in the main area commercial and tourist of Istanbul, on the Istiklal Avenue, the broad boulevard closed to vehicular traffic. After the attack, the street was closed to pedestrians; the place came an ambulance and the police.

First reports of four deaths, but one seriously injured people died.

Both of these attacks admitted armed group Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK), linked to the outlawed Turkey Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

“Freedom Falcons of Kurdistan” work in southern Turkey and northern Iraq. This grouping aims to secession of Kurdistan. According to experts, the emergence of “Freedom Falcons” on the political scene was the result of splits in the PKK.
