US President Barack Obama has confirmed the death of an American, Peter Kassiga and called his killing by the Islamic State (IS) an act of “absolute evil”. Jihadists have released a video on Sunday showing Kassiga murdered by decapitation.
Obama issued a statement on the matter from the deck of the presidential aircraft during the return from Australia with the G20. The communication expressed sympathy for the family Kassiga. He called it murder “absolute evil act made by the terrorist group, which the world rightly considers inhumane.”
The family of the murdered issued a statement in which he wrote that he is devastated by the news of the death of Kassiga.

Shortly before the Sunday “New York Times” reported that the US authorities believe published by IS recording as authentic. “NYT” referred to a senior representative of the administration, who admitted that the authorities are increasingly convinced that Kassig was murdered. Intelligence agencies already had strong grounds to believe that an American was killed by the forces of the Islamic State – said the caller log. Kassig was kidnapped in Syria over a year ago.

Earlier Kassig served in Iraq but was discharged for medical reasons. From the Pentagon data shows that by the year belonged to an elite formation rangers stayed in Iraq from April to July 2007. After leaving the army devoted himself to humanitarian activities, in 2012 he founded a humanitarian organization Special Emergency Response and Assistance (SERA), which was to help Syrian refugees.
It is the fifth western hostage by jihadists wasted. Previous recordings reported the executions of American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloffa and two British colleagues humanitarian organizations: Alan Henning and David Haines.
