The leaders of Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine – Chancellor Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande Presidents Vladimir Putin and Petro Poroshenko – they had all-night talks in Minsk to sign a document on the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine – Reuters reported, citing a diplomatic source. – It is hoped that an agreement could be signed by the Contact Group – announced. The agreement would involve “a concrete implementation of the agreement with Minsk from September 5th.”
As RIA-Novosti reported, the leaders left the chat room after 14 hours of deliberations. Merkel and Hollande had held a short two-way conversation on the outcome of the talks in Minsk – the agency said.
Reuters correspondent wrote, however, that it is not clear whether the conversation actually ended. According to him, Merkel, Hollande and Poroshenko were still in the Chamber, while Putin left the room. After him came the President of Ukraine.
