“Yemen is collapsing before our eyes” – Polish Radio

Saudi Arabia is the first country of the Gulf, which closed the embassy in Yemen’s capital Sana’a. Facility also closed the United States, Britain and France, and now Germany and Italy. All in fear of civil war on a large scale after it took over power in Yemen opposition Shiite tribe Huť.

Following these events, and the Prime Minister Hadi Khalid Bahah resigned.

After the takeover of power by the Shiite rebels operating in Yemen Al-Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) announced their annihilation, which fueled fears the outbreak of inter-war home on a full scale. Huti movement is supported by Iran, but the rebels denied that they had links with the authorities in Tehran. Shiites are a minority in Yemen, and the majority Sunni organizes almost daily protests against Huť, also accused Iran of supporting the “coup”.

Over the past decade, based in Yemen, US drones have made numerous attacks on alleged militants and leaders AQAP. The Pentagon said on Tuesday that the success of the rebellion Huti will have an impact on the ability of the US to conduct counter-terrorism operations.
