Syrian Islamists hijacked about 300 Kurdish civilians – Virtual Poland

About 300 Kurdish civilians were kidnapped by Islamist rebels on the road to Aleppo in northern Syria – Kurdish sources said.
 

It is not clear what group is behind the kidnapping, although representatives of the Kurdish party PYD claim that the kidnappers are jihadists linked to al-Qaeda al-Nusra Front, which is very active in the Syrian province of Idlib. Spokesman for the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD; main Kurdish party in Syria) Nawaf Khalil told AFP that the Islamists ambushed a group fell approx. 300 people traveling by bus and minibus several Kurdish town of Afrin to Aleppo, where they collect their pay.

The representative of the Kurdish canton Koban, Nassan Idris said, however, that the kidnappers abducted approx. 300 Kurdish men, and let go women and children.
