Refugees from Africa and other countries are to be deployed in different EU countries. The idea is to alleviate the wave of immigration in the Mediterranean region. The EC has adopted a strategy on this issue.
European resettlement program assumes that all countries adopt 20 thousand. people by 2016. Which and how much it depends on three factors. – GDP of the country, the size of the population, present involvement in helping refugees – lists MEP Michał Boni. This means that under-represented in the number of immigrants are the three EU countries. – Poland, Hungary and Ireland – adds the Democratic Left Alliance MEP Christine Łybacka.
But before refugees member states will be directed from above, the European Commission hopes that the state will be reported to their adoption on a voluntary basis. In this context, according to the MEP Boni, Poland should pay attention to the assistance provided to the Ukrainians. – Factor openness to immigrants from third countries who are seeking safety without having a refugee status should also be taken into account – explains Boni.
In contrast, the MEP Marek Jurek is pleased that Poland has responded positively to calls Christians Syria. – Resettlement of Syrian approx. 300 families would be a very good signal that we are not just immigration policy, but also a policy of its own. We are the environment, we are helping, while we respond to those who need us – explains herb.
For providing shelter for refugees, the European Union plans to spend 50 million. euro.
