British organizations are sounding the alarm – marriage, even 11-year-old Muslim are arranged by Skype. This practice – in their opinion – is grown in the British Isles by the imams. Girls are issued for adult men living in the countries of distant Asia, mostly in Pakistan. Husbands often promised a visa that will allow them entry to the UK.
The British media describe the case of a girl from London, who married in this way, 25-year-old man from Bangladesh. According to the organization Freedom, 11-year-old was not aware of what’s going on.
A few months later made contact with social activists after reading this booklet, which her brother got in school. It warned children against such practices.
British social services intervened when the family was planning to deport the girl to Bangladesh, concluded that in this way a relationship to be consummated.
According to the charities, marriages through Skype are not uncommon.
Another documented case was a married 13-year-old who was forced to conclude a relationship with 18-year-old Iranian.
The ceremonies are carried out in the telephone and immediately authorized under Sharia. Often children do not realize what’s involved. Their families inform them after the fact, when the marriage is already included.
The organization Freedom also reached a 17-year-old, who found his wife in this way, after the family learned that your teen meets with the native Briton.
