The debate in the European Parliament about the situation in Poland will be held next Tuesday in Strasbourg. On Wednesday, while the resolution will be voted on. So they decided the chairman of most of the political groups.

“The EPP, the Socialists, Liberals, Greens and Communists for the debate on. PL in Strasbourg. Zero willingness to compromise. The anti-Polish rampage continues,” – wrote on Twitter PiS MEP Tomasz Poreba, who participated in the Conference of Presidents of the EP.

 - There is no reason to PE again discussed the situation in Poland – said PiS MEP. In his view Thursday’s decision that such a debate will be held EuropeanParliament, is “ideologically motivated attack on the Polish government.”

Poreba represent the fraction of the European Conservatives and Reformists at the EP Conference of Presidents, which set the agenda for the plenary session in Strasbourg next week. According to the order of hours on Tuesday. 15 Parliament has to debate the situation in Poland, and on Wednesday to vote on a resolution on this matter. Poreba submitted a request to remove this item from the agenda, but he did not receive majority support faction.

– The planned debate and possible resolution is another ideologically motivated attack on the Polish government. In Poland there are no problems with democracy – Poreba said after the decision of the leaders of the political groups in the EP.

 - Today in Poland we have the first since the fall of the communist government allows for self-governance. Independent media, many of which are unfavorable to the authorities – said PiS MEP, quoted in a press release. He stressed that “the government has shown a far-reaching good will, posting 21 decisions of the Constitutional Court, in dialogue with the European Commission and relying also open for the opposition group of experts who responded to the recommendations of the Venice Commission and proposed changes in the law designed to stave off the current conflict” around TK.

According to Poreba, despite the adoption of a new law on TK “pressure on Poland does not cease,” and are even getting stronger. MEP accused of a majority in the EP and the European Commission that during the rule of the PO and PSL, these institutions never once responded “to flagrant examples of violation of fundamental freedoms and democratic principles.”

“Evil can not hide”

At a press conference the head of delegation in the European PO Janusz Lewandowski commented on the decision of the representatives of factions in the European Parliament, who approved the agenda of next week’s plenary session in Strasbourg EuropeanParliament.

– the Conference of Presidents of the various factions in the European Parliament decided today that it will again, and the debate about Poland, and resolution critical of Polish. This evil, what is happening in Poland, you can not just hide. This is a naive illusion that you can cheat public opinion in the West – Lewandowski said at a press conference in the EP.

 - It’s deeper concern about the abuse of power of today’s government of PiS and a concern of our friends, who have always responded in need, when something bad has happened in Poland – he added. According to Lewandowski abuse those on various issues, meaning “destruction of achievements of the previous generation and the Polish democracy.”

The debate and the resolution were the Christian Democrats, Socialists, Liberals, Greens and Communists and against – European Conservatives and Eurosceptics.

This will be the second debate on the situation in Poland concerning the constitutional crisis. In the first, in mid-January, the Prime Minister took part Beata Awl. A few months later she was voted on the resolution. Then the document was short and cover only the dispute over the Constitutional Court.

Now – according to a draft resolution prepared – MEPs to urge the European Commission to look into other laws – the media, counter-terrorism, and the civil service.

The draft preamble also been added opinion about the concern about the decision to cut parts of trees in the Bialowieza Forest. The document does not explicitly mention the citizens’ initiative on the tightening of the abortion law, we are generally talking about women’s rights, but the Greens and the Communists informed, they present an amendment criticizing the initiative.
