East Ukraine Russia has become a place where they can test their military capabilities. Although the Kremlin denies equipment separatists forces clearly indicates the support of the Russians – the portal of the BBC.
The Ukrainian military have not undergone a similar modernization, which now have to contend with the better-equipped forces of the Separatists. Among the examples mentioned the use of unmanned drones and electronic warfare. Both of these areas have been in 2008, considered to be the weakness of the Russian forces, and therefore since been intensively worked on their improvement.
Ukrainian communication system is very poorly protected. Thanks separatists can block and often know the locations of Ukrainian troops and equipment, making it easier to attack them.
The problem Ukrainians are less equipped tanks. They do not have a proper anti-tank weapons. Also, the losses they have suffered in the air force show how well equipped they are supported by the Russian separatists. BBC mentions, among others, Buk missile launchers, which probably was used to shoot down aircraft Malaysia Airlines and Strela missile having a shorter range. In this connection it is of assistance in these areas, as well as for medical supplies mainly asking the Ukrainian authorities.
Independent experts, NATO, the Western leaders and the authorities in Kiev say that the military capabilities that are separatists, clearly indicate the support of the Russians. The Kremlin, however, still denies. The BBC adds that due to the situation in Ukraine, Russia has had a real opportunity to try out their military tactics practiced for years. This may be particularly important if the United States will support militarily Ukrainians – then the Russians will be able to assess how their forces are doing a challenge with NATO forces.
