At the same time submitted a revised number of survivors of the disaster – 12 people survived the 454 passengers, mostly elderly, and crew members. Previously reported that 14 people survived on 456 on board.

The ship “Star of the East” overturned and it sank in less than two minutes due – as initially agreed – very bad weather. It was the biggest catastrophe in the transport of the river since the foundation of the Republic of China in 1949.

Among the survivors was Captain and the chief engineer. Both were detained. They argue that the cause of the crash was a tornado. It is still unclear, however, why despite the very bad weather did not interrupt the cruise ship and docked at the nearby port.
