Angola: mined diamond weighing 404 carats and worth over 12 million euros – Banker


             In Angola, excavated the largest in the country’s diamond weighing 404 carats and the estimated value of over 12 million euros – said on Tuesday the Australian mining company, Lucapa, belongs to mine diamonds.
           

 
 
 

“Lucapa with great satisfaction informs mining diamond weighing 404.2 carats in Lulo in the province of Lunda Norte in the north of Angola – reads the company.


 

When asked by the Australian media boss Lucapy Miles Kennedy believes that this precious stone with a length of 7 cm can be worth more than 20 million Australian dollars (12.8 million euros).


 

According to the company, in terms of the largest diamond ever mined in Angola and 27. largest found so far in the world.
 

The previous record was in Angola for diamond weighing 217.4 carats, named “Star of Angola”.


 

Angola is one of the four largest producers of diamonds in the world.


 

The largest diamond in the world – “Cullinan” – a defect in 3 106 carats, was found in South Africa in 1905. Last year, 1 diamond weighing 111 carats was found in a mine in Botswana. (PAP)
