The EU has no plan B in case the British voted in a referendum for leaving the Union - said on Sunday the EU Commissioner. The citizens of the United Kingdom have in the vote set for June 23 to answer the question whether their country should remain in the European Union or leave it .

Moscovici asked during a television interview to France 5, whether the Union has planned what to do if you decide to leave the EU, he replied: "No, definitely not, we do not have a plan B. It would not help us if we have a plan" .

"The day that we begin to develop a plan B is the day we stop believing in our plan A. It is not in any way help us to outline a scenario for disaster" - rated.

"I have a plan: the United Kingdom in the United Europe" - said definitely Moscovici.

Members of the European Commission will not take part in the campaign preceding the British referendum, because it would be counterproductive - said the European Commissioner.

"I think prudence tells not to participate in the campaign and not try to impose a sovereign choice of the public. Referendums are dangerous, especially in Europe" - said Moscovici.

"We have a lot of crisis phenomena, these are Europe's problems, but also international. The idea that you can find in your own country to solve these problems with international character, is false" - summed up Moscovici.

"If that Britain voted to leave the European Union, it would undo the dynamics of historical development in recent years, which prompted many countries to join in one block," - he added. (PAP)
