President of Brazil awaits impeachment? Dilma Rousseff goes to counterattack – Polish Radio

Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff treats an attempt to offset it from power as a “coup” and does not intend to resign. – I’m a victim of injustice. I will fight like I fought all my life – said Rousseff.


 

Brazilian president spoke for the first time after the decision of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of the Brazilian parliament, which on Sunday backed impeachment for the current head of state.


 

In the full emotional speech at a press conference Dilma Rousseff said that he is the victim of a profound injustice. “But I will not let me on the removal from power. The fight is only just beginning. I have the courage, the strength to stand up to this injustice,” – said the president of Brazil.


 
 

He categorically ruled out the possibility of his resignation. Also he rejected all accusations against her.


 

In Sunday’s vote for impeachment Rousseff was supported by 367 deputies, 137 were against. Now, the request for the president from office will be forwarded to the Senate, which will have six months to examine the matter.


 

A special parliamentary committee, which recommended the initiation of the procedure of impeachment, criticizes President Rousseff that used the “illegal manipulation of accounting to hide unauthorized spending government between 2014 and 2015, changing by decree budget assumptions in order to increase debt and borrowing banks public. ” This was spending on programs of social policy of the government center-left Workers Party. As opponents say the head of state had to ensure its re-election in the presidential election in 2014, and also hide the signs of recession in the Brazilian economy.

A few days ago, Rousseff accused the Vice President and President of the Chamber of Deputies, that conspired against her. Both are involved in the gigantic corruption scandal of the Brazilian oil company Petrobras.


 

Vice President Michel Temer, lawyer, leader of the Party of the Brazilian Democratic Movement (PMDB), which upon removal from power of the current head of state would take her place automatically, is under investigation in the scandal Petrobrasu. President of the Chamber of Deputies Eduardo Cunha is suspected of money laundering in the same affair.
