The number of victims of the earthquake strength 6.2, which on Wednesday hit central Italy has risen to at least 278 – announced on Friday the authorities. The hardest hit were the village at the junction regions of Umbria, Lazio and Marche. Rescue teams with dogs still searched on Friday destroyed by the earthquake town Amatrice, which killed at least 218 people, but under the rubble no longer gave signs of life. Unknown is the fate of more than a dozen people from this town, including several children.

In a few nearby villages, including in Pescara del Tronto, rescuers stopped the action, when it was confirmed that there is no longer missing.
 

 On Saturday in Ascoli Picento state funeral will be held approx. 40 victims of the earthquake. The funeral ceremony will be attended by Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. Saturday will be in Italy national day of mourning.
 

The funeral ceremony commemorating the victims of the earthquake will be held in Amatrice on Tuesday with the participation of the head of government.
 

According to the latest information provided by the authorities, hospital stays 388 people injured in the earthquake. Condition 40 of which is described as critical. It is estimated that 2.5 thousand. people found themselves without a roof over your head. Many of those whose homes were destroyed, staying in makeshift tent cities.
