- For making up the road on which the Western countries went through the centuries, Ukraine has only a few years – said the president at a specially convened press conference in Kiev.
Poroshenko stressed that his country needs reforms in 2020 to apply for membership in the European Union. But the main task – as noted – is the modernization of Ukraine and meet the expectations of its citizens. – The alternative to transformation is one. A series of changes that await Ukrainians
Head of State explained that as part of its strategy until 2020, Ukraine should implement anti-corruption reform, judiciary, tax, defense and internal affairs, decentralize authority and simplify business conditions.
Poroshenko expressed the hope that the changes it will support the new parliament, which will be a showdown to determine in previous elections at the end of October. He declared at the same time, it is expected that the present Supreme Council until the end of his term of office will be able to adopt a law on the establishment of anti-corruption body in Ukraine.
The president also rated the active phase of the war on the Ukrainian East has already passed, and his plan for peace solution to the conflict with the separatists working and delivering.
Poroshenko: I fear nothing

The president also warned that Ukraine is able to provide “fast and decent” response if Moscow decides to introduce economic sanctions against Kiev. – I would like to assure you that if the Russians decide to unilateral sanctions against Ukraine, the reaction of the Ukrainian side will be quick and efficient – he said.
Poroshenko stressed that Russia should agree on possible sanctions with its partners from Belarus and Kazakhstan. – After this, when Kazakhstan and Belarus entered into the Customs Union of Russia, the issues of the use of the Russian Federation sanctions should be governed by the Commission Eurasian, which Russia gave part of their competence – said Ukrainian President.
