Pope Francis mortal danger from jihadist Islamic State – writes the British newspaper “The Telegraph”, citing the words of the Iraqi ambassador to the Vatican Habib al-Sadr. The diplomat warned that an attack may occur even on Sunday.

Habib Al-Sadr warns, however, that the head of the Catholic Church can not feel safe even in Rome. The Iraqi ambassador to the Holy See reiterates that the jihadists are fighting in the ranks of the European and American citizens.

Habib Al-Sadr, quoted by “The Telegraph”, insisted that the threat of Sunni rebels to be taken seriously. He recalled that in Iraq, destroying the holy places of the Shi’a, Yezidi and Christians, and people were given the choice: convert to Islam or death.
As described in the British newspaper, the Vatican says that there are no credible reports that the Pope’s life was actually in danger. It also does not intend to change their travel plans to Albania.
