The Palestinian organization Hamas will not be recognized by the European Union as a terrorist organization. Yes ruled EU Court of Justice , citing procedural reasons. Judges of the Court concluded that the inclusion of Hamas a terrorist organization in 2001 was based on press reports and information taken from the Internet and not proven facts and the decision confirmed by the relevant authorities.
On this basis, the Palestinian organization kontestowała include its legitimacy in the Union list, which led to the freezing of assets in the European Union. Today, citing procedural reasons, the Court stated that Hamas will be deleted from the register, but still retained temporarily freezing of assets. At the same time the judges emphasized that today’s decision does not entail any form of assessment of the qualifications Hamas as a terrorist organization .
The decision of the Court has already commented on Israel. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Hamas is a murderous, terrorist organization whose statutory objective is the destruction of Israel. We expect that Hamas will immediately back on the list of terrorist organizations – Netanyahu said.
