Russian President Vladimir Putin said in Milan that the issue of Ukraine “there is no other solution than peace.” Together with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzim pointed out that the basis for all efforts in this regard must be an agreement with Minsk.
Putin announced that he had talked with Renzim the sanctions imposed on Russia. – We talked about this in a realistic manner, about how these sanctions prevent us from working – he said.
– Penalties (…) must either be removed, or changed to support companies that want to cooperate with us. It also refers to contracts signed in the field of military and technological “- said Putin.
When asked by a Russian journalist about the recent deliberations of the G7, which because of the conflict was not invited Ukrainian Russia, Putin said: “There is simply no relationship between Russia and the G7″. – When we belonged there, we participated, we have proposed an alternative point of view, but our partners decided they did not need it – he stressed.
Then estimated that it may be useful to develop international relations at the level of the G20. – There is also the mechanism works – he said.
Premier Renzi said he and Putin share the conviction that the agreements with Minsk are “polar star, compass reference point for all the efforts” on Ukraine.
– I believe that all men and women of good will will work for the full implementation of the agreements Minsk – said Renzi. In his opinion, if that agreement will be respected, will end up “phase of the tensions, difficulties and trade sanctions and the responses to them.”
– If we could finish out the path to the minutes of Minsk, it would strengthen the already ongoing cooperation at international level, particularly important in other parts of the world – said Renzi. In this context, he stressed the need for cooperation with Russia, listing the issues of Iran, Syria, Iraq, Egypt and the events in Libya. – The role of the Russian Federation is very important and evaluated as such by everyone – he stressed.
The head of the Italian government at a press conference in the Italian pavilion at the Expo, the Palazzo Italia, argued that the world needs Russia in connection with the necessity of responding to global threats, especially from terrorism. Moscow – he rated – “must be the first line with the European Union and the United States to face these threats.” According to Renzi is the “objective truth”.
As a common priority pointed to the fight against terrorism and said it was one of the most important points raised during his talks with Putin. – We are dealing with a wave of extremism and fanaticism that leads to murder innocent people – said the Italian prime minister. He said that for this reason “it is necessary involvement of the various world powers and Russia it was, is and will be”. Italian Prime Minister stressed that the acceptance and full implementation of the agreement called Minsk-2 solve every issue of disagreement with Moscow.
