Czech President Milos Zeman called Thursday night to hold a referendum on continued membership of the Czech Republic in the EU and NATO. He stressed that he is a supporter of the country to remain in these organizations.
Reuters reminds that the responsibility of the president is not to hold a referendum, as this would require changes in the constitution. However, Zeman is an influential politician in the country, where many voters are skeptical of the Union. Czech Republic entered the Community in 2004.
