Countries EU formally adopted on Monday evening new sanctions against Russia

Originally it was planned that the sanctions approved on Monday will be announced on Tuesday in the Official Journal of the EU . Then the financial and visa restrictions against additional persons and institutions responsible for the conflict in eastern Ukraine would come into effect immediately, while economic sanctions – on Wednesday.
However, following the announcement on Friday of the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine, in EU there are voices to wait with the tightening of sanctions against Russia and to assess whether the truce is respected. Prime Minister of Finland Alexander Stubb informed about their concerns on Twitter.
It is obvious that Finland supports the joint line EU on the sanctions against Russia. I hope that the situation in Ukraine will improve as soon as possible, then sanctions will not need

According to diplomatic sources list of sanctioned visa and financial resources would be extended by 24 individuals and companies. Economic sanctions would include, among others, fundraising ban on European capital markets for companies in the defense industry and the state oil companies of Russia. According to leaks sanctions would affect Gazprom Bank, Gazprom Neft, the oil which is a subsidiary of Gazprom, Rosneft and Transneft companies.
On Sunday, the head of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy said the EU is ready to go back further sanctions against Russia, if applicable from Friday ceasefire in eastern Ukraine will be maintained. “If a ceasefire is in force and / or begin peace talks, we are ready to withdraw the sanctions” – Van Rompuy said in an interview with Belgian TV station VRT . “The main thing was to reach agreement on a truce. Several incidents took place. We have to wait for the assessment of whether are repeated, or whether they were isolated incidents “- he added.
