73-year-old Sergio Mattarella was elected on Saturday by the Italian parliament as president of the country. Constitutional Court Judge candidate and former deputy and former minister of the center-left Democratic Party put forward the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
 

The selection of the new president made senators, deputies and delegates from all regions. Mattarella need to choose 505 votes, received their 664.
