– Each also has its “cross to bear” when he becomes prime minister. One has to take care of pensions, other government needs to address some other difficult decisions. On the shoulders of Prime Minister Kopacz very difficult to finalize fell earlier discussions with the trade unions – said the head of the European Council, referring to the pension reform carried out by his government.
Stressed that in the ongoing negotiations between the current government and the mining unions will not solutions without being willing to compromise on either side. – I remember that during some of the discussions was the willingness, sometimes too hard unionists put up the case. Money for mining with the EU?
Tuesday in the European Parliament held a debate on the results of the December EU summit on where EU leaders endorsed the European Commission’s plan to stimulate investment of 315 billion euros. It was the first summit led by Tusk.
On this occasion, the PiS MEP and the party’s candidate for president, Andrzej Duda asked about the situation in the Polish mining and possible support for this sector of the investment fund. Tusk did not rule out that also in the energy and mining industries, and also in Poland may perhaps there will be projects that will benefit the acceptance of expert fund managers.
– There is currently no limits when it comes to areas of parts economy, in which we will invest the money collected in this fund, but from the very beginning, we assumed that the criteria under which loans will be granted or guarantees of this fund may not be the political criteria only busines s – Tusk said.
Thus – as Tusk said – according to the intention of all EU countries to investment selection criteria and decision-making were rather in the hands of managers and experts than politicians. He stressed that the fund managers have people follow one criterion – that money work for the development of the whole of Europe and contributed to the increase in the number of jobs.

– The fund is not intended as a support for the projects for which there is no chance to become profitable ventures – Tusk recalled. As he explained, it is more about search in Poland and other countries such projects – including in the energy sector – which will have a chance in the future commercial success.
Duda previously appealed to the investment plan, proposed by the European Commission chief Jean-Claude ‘ Juncker took into account the need for a change in the energy and necessary changes in the mining industry. – The government of the Civic Platform in Poland, the party from which derives the chairman Donald Tusk announced a plan of liquidation of coal mines, which is the basic raw material in Poland (..) It is very dangerous for our economy and many European economies – said Duda.
In his opinion, it is all the more dangerous in the light of the EU adopted a new climate package, which aims to reduce CO2 emiss ions by 40 percent. 2030. – If there is no solidarity intervention and financial assistance under the EU in this case, (the climate package) will not lead to the loss of thousands, not hundreds of thousands, but perhaps a million jobs through the elimination of many industries, especially energy – he added.
According Bagpipe investment plan should provide funds for the modernization of the European energy sector – especially in the countries of Central and Eastern EU countries that are behind in relation to the old EU countries.
– Does the plan will take into account these needs Juncker ? Or do we in Poland and in Central and Eastern Europe have seen such pictures as they are today; people crying, desperate miners, desperate people in the energy industry, the risk of losing their jobs? Juncker plan should these jobs to build, and not to allow their liquidation – Duda said.
According to the draft presented by the European Commis sion would have created a special body (European Investment Advisory Hub), which will help in the identification of occupied and the preparation and implementation of projects across the EU. It is expected that the European Investment Platform, which is to contribute the improvement of knowledge among investors about the existing and future projects.
