US Vice President Joe Biden assured consisting of a visit to Washington, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the United States and its allies from the G7 are prepared to impose additional sanctions on Russia if necessary.
He informed the White House in a published statement, Biden said that the US, like other G7 countries will continue to exert pressure on Russia to fully respect the agreements with Minsk . In this context, Biden mentioned – according to a press – the need to restore control of Ukraine on its side of the international border and the withdrawal of all Russian troops and armaments from the territory of Ukraine.
The Vice President stressed that the United States and its allies from the G7 are willing to impose “additional, significant sanctions” against Russia, if it proves necessary to respond to its activities in Ukraine.
Biden also discussed the issue of Yatsenjouk reforms in Ukraine, in particular the fight against corruption.
