“We want to grow, strengthen ties”
The president Andrzej Duda during a joint press conference with the President of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović said that “the policy of closer ties” is an element of at least in backing the European cohesion policy.
He added that its purpose is economic development and increase the competitiveness of countries Trójmorza.
He said that in the discussion appeared two fundamental elements: energy infrastructure, which enables the diversification of supplies, “mutual support in the event of a situation crisis “and the road and rail infrastructure, concrete projects like. Via Baltica and Via Carpathia.
He stressed that the essence of the meeting was to deepen integration, strengthening cohesion between the countries and, therefore, ultimately raising the standard of living of societies and approach to the level of the richest countries in Western Europe.

On the other hand Grabar-Kitarowic noted that the initiative Trójmorza is not aimed at distancing of the European Union, but the blurring of the differences between countries Trójmorza area and other EU member states with a long history of democracy and the free market.
She hoped that through concrete projects and through a common vision of “Europe truly free country, not the periphery ‘initiative will contribute to the strengthening of the Union.
Forum countries Trójmorza
The Forum countries Trójmorza attended by representatives of 12 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
In addition to the President of the Republic and the President of Croatia are the presidents of Hungary Janos Ader, Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite, Borut Pahor of Slovenia and Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev.
His representatives in the rank of ministers or deputy ministers at the forum are also presidents of the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Austria, Estonia and Latvia.
The first day of the meeting was devoted to political topics. The second day will fill the discussions about the possibilities of energy cooperation, infrastructure and information.
The next forum Trójmorza countries will be held in June 2017 in Wroclaw.

“Joint Declaration on the Initiative Trójmorza (Declaration of Dubrovnik)
EU member states situated between the Adriatic, the Baltic and the Black Sea: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia –
Recognizing the importance of the connection economies and infrastructure of Central and Eastern Europe from North to South, so as to complete the construction of a common European market, given that so far, most efforts served the combination of Eastern and Western Europe;
Taking note of the progress that has been achieved in this regard, thanks to the support fund infrastructure projects CEF (Connecting Europe Facility), the European structural funds and investment (ESIF), and thanks to synergy effects of macro-regional strategy for the European Union;
Convinced that by extending the existing cooperation in the field of energy, transport, digital communications, and economic sectors in Central and Eastern Europe will become more secure and more competitive, thus contributing to the strengthening of the European Union as a whole;
By agreeing about the fact that the dynamics of comprehensive cooperation in the Adriatic-Baltic-Black Sea, both within the EU and in the wider space of the transatlantic needs to be revitalized, but without creating parallel structures to the existing cooperation mechanisms;
supported the initiative Trójmorza as an informal platform for gaining political support and organize decisive action on specific cross-border and macro-regional projects of strategic importance to the State involved in the sectors of energy, transport, communications and digital economy in Central and Eastern Europe.
confirmed that the initiative Trójmorza is, in the context of specific projects open to partnerships with interested public or business entities from around the world who recognize the fundamental values and principles of the European Union;
welcomed the announcement of the next meeting of the Initiative Trójmorza at a high level in June 2017 in Wroclaw.
