The EC will return to the debate on the situation in Poland

6 April, the European Commission is expected to return to the debate on the situation in Poland, after March 11, the Venice Commission adopted an opinion on the Constitutional Court.

The Venice Commission informed that the conclusion of the opinion is that “weaken the effectiveness of the Court would undermine democracy, human rights and the rule of law” in Poland. In the opinion it is said that “both the previous and the current majority in the Polish parliament took unconstitutional act.”

After the opinion of the Venice Commission Beata Szydło referred the opinion to the Parliament, that there developed a solution to the dispute around the Constitutional Court.
